Privacy Policy — Sì Pattina

Last updated: 2 October 2026

Sì Pattina is an app for organising group inline-skating events. It is made and run by Kerolos Mina, an individual developer. This policy explains exactly what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it.

There is no advertising in this app, no analytics or tracking SDK, and nothing is sold or handed to a data broker. Ever.

What is collected

DataWhenWhy
Name, email address and profile picture When you sign in with Google To identify you to other skaters — your name is what appears on an event's attendee list. Your email is used to find your account and to contact you about the app.
A profile photo you choose from your device Only if you pick one in Settings. The app never reads your gallery: Android's own picker hands over the single file you selected, and nothing else. Shown as your picture instead of the one from your Google account. It is cropped and shrunk to 256×256 pixels on your phone before it is uploaded, and only that small version leaves the device. There is exactly one per account: choosing a new one deletes the old one, and removing it deletes it altogether.
Precise location, including while the app is closed Only while you are recording a tour or a solo trip, or while you have opted in to the speed contest during a live event. Never at any other time. To record the route you skated, to show a live tour to the people attending it, and to measure your top speed.
Distance, duration and top speed At the end of a tour or trip Shown as totals on your profile.
Messages you send through the app's contact form Only when you write one So the developer can read and answer them. Pictures attached to a message are shrunk on your phone before upload.
City, a description and, optionally, a phone number Only if you apply to become an event organiser So the developer can decide on the application and contact you about it. The phone number is not required; your email is enough.
Friends, friend requests and links to your own social profiles Only if you use them To show who you skate with and where else people can find you.
A notification address for your device When the app first opens on a phone To tell you when a ride you joined starts or someone sends you a friend request. It is handled by Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and contains nothing about who you are.

Location, in detail

This is the part that matters most, so it is spelled out:

Where it is stored

All of it is stored on Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Realtime Database and Cloud Storage), on Google's servers. Nothing goes to any other company's servers, and there is no separate database anywhere else.

Four outside services are contacted. Each receives your IP address and what is listed below — but no account information, no name and no email:

Who can see what

Deleting your data

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time: Menu → Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, your name, your email address, your totals and your place on every event's attendee list.

Two things to know:

If you cannot open the app, or want your data removed another way, write to the address at the bottom of this page and it will be handled manually.

How long it is kept

Your rights

The data controller is Kerolos Mina (contact below). Data is used to provide the service you signed up for; location is used only when you start a recording yourself, which you can stop at any time. If you are in the European Union you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how it is used — write to the address below. You can also complain to your national data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

The app stores a few settings on your device (language, preferences). They are needed for the app to work, are never sent anywhere, and are not used to track you, so no cookie banner is shown.

Keeping it safe

Everything travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and is stored on Google's infrastructure. Access is restricted by database security rules that are checked on Google's servers, not in the app — so a modified copy of the app cannot read what it is not allowed to read.

Children

This app is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them. If you believe a child has an account, write to the address below and it will be deleted.

Changes

If what the app collects changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it.
